چکیده
The Antarctic region is facing a higher risk of hydrocarbon pollution due to increased human activities. Compounds such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heterocyclic compounds available in fuel are highly stable can reside the environment for prolonged periods if left untreated. isolation native strains needed develop bioremediation applications suitable Antarctica. Strain BS19 was isolated compound carbazole-degrading bacterium from soil through culture enrichment. 16S rRNA gene sequences identified strain member Sphingonium genus. could remove 75% carbazole after 15 days at °C. Whole genome sequencing resulted incomplete genomes 4.77 Mb 96 contigs with lowest GC content among Sphingobium sp. strains. analyses revealed car cluster ant genes cat required complete metabolism source carbon energy. comparison showed similarity Novosphingobium KA1. expression confirmed an RT-PCR analysis indicating involvement predicted degradation. findings this study provide more insight into developing approaches Antarctica other cold environments.

Draft Genome Sequence of the Aromatic Hydrocarbon-Degrading Bacterium Sphingobium sp. Strain Ant17, Isolated from Antarctic Soil
Here, we present the draft genome sequence of Sphingobium sp. strain Ant17, an aromatic hydrocarbon-degrading bacterium that was isolated from Antarctic oil-contaminated soil. An analysis of this genome can lead to insights into the mechanisms of xenobiotic degradation processes at low temperatures and potentially aid in bioremediation applications.
متن کاملSphingobium olei sp. nov., isolated from oil-contaminated soil.
The taxonomic status of a yellow-coloured bacterial isolate from an oil-contaminated soil sample was determined using a polyphasic taxonomic approach. Comparative analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that the novel isolate formed a distinct phyletic line within the genus Sphingobium. The generic assignment was confirmed by chemotaxonomic data, which revealed: a fatty acid profile that is ...
متن کاملDegradation of Hydrocarbons and Lignin-like compounds by Alcaligenes sp. strain 3k isolated from Ilorin
The primary goal of this study was to isolate hydrocarbon-degrading organisms and assess their ability to bioremediate petroleum-contaminated soil and water. Nigeria is one of the major oil producing countries and petroleum contamination is widespread in agricultural soil. Alcaligenes sp. strain 3k was isolated from a kerosene-polluted soil in Ilorin, Nigeria. We also assessed its ability to de...

We report here the 3,637,012-bp draft genome sequence of Microbacterium sp. strain LEMMJ01, isolated from ornithogenic soil from King George Island, Antarctica. The total number of genes presented in the draft genome sequence was 3,553, and the total number of coding sequences was 3,497. In addition, genes related to the production of terpene and carotenoids were revealed.
